Moving to a new system is daunting — especially when years of customer data are locked inside a spreadsheet or an older piece of software. One of the biggest barriers we hear from laundry owners considering Cucianku is: "How do I get my customers in?"
Today, the answer is a CSV file and two clicks.
Import: preview before you commit
The customer import flow in Cucianku uses a two-step approach specifically designed to prevent the messy imports that leave you with duplicates, garbled phone numbers, or missing data.
Upload your CSV
Go to Admin → Customers → Import. Select your file. Cucianku reads it immediately and checks every row for issues.
Review the preview
Before anything is saved, you see a full table of every row that will be imported. Rows with problems (missing name, invalid phone format) are flagged individually — you can fix your file and re-upload without losing the good rows.
Confirm and import
Happy with the preview? Click Import. All customers are created in one go, with phone numbers normalised to Indonesian format automatically.
Duplicate protection: if a phone number already exists in your database, that row is skipped rather than creating a duplicate. You'll see exactly which rows were skipped and why in the results summary.
What format does the CSV need to be?
The importer is intentionally flexible — it accepts the column headers that most spreadsheet exports already use. A minimal file looks like this:

Only name and phone are required. Address and billing type are optional and default to blank and "pay on collection" respectively. Phone numbers are accepted in any common Indonesian format — normalised automatically so they work correctly with WhatsApp notifications — with or without dashes, with or without a leading zero or +62.
Export: your data is always yours
The export feature is available from the same Customers page. Click Export and a CSV downloads immediately to your device. The file contains every active customer — name, phone, address, billing type, and the date they were added.
This means:
- You can take a backup any time, in seconds
- You can open the file in Excel or Google Sheets to do your own analysis
- If you ever need to move to a different system (we hope you won't!), you're never locked in
Use case: migrating from a WhatsApp list
Many laundry businesses in Indonesia track customers in a WhatsApp group or a handwritten ledger. A common migration path we've seen work well:
- Export your WhatsApp contacts to a VCF file, then convert to CSV (free tools online do this)
- Add a "billing_type" column, set everyone to "pay_on_collection" initially
- Import into Cucianku — preview confirms everything looks right
- Adjust individual customer billing types in the app as needed
The whole process typically takes under 15 minutes for a list of a few hundred customers.

Impor: pratinjau sebelum mengkonfirmasi
Alur impor pelanggan di Cucianku menggunakan pendekatan dua langkah yang dirancang khusus untuk mencegah impor yang berantakan yang meninggalkan duplikat, nomor telepon yang salah, atau data yang hilang.
Unggah CSV Anda
Buka Admin → Pelanggan → Impor. Pilih file Anda. Cucianku langsung membacanya dan memeriksa setiap baris untuk masalah.
Tinjau pratinjau
Sebelum ada yang disimpan, Anda melihat tabel lengkap setiap baris yang akan diimpor. Baris dengan masalah (nama kosong, format telepon tidak valid) ditandai satu per satu — Anda dapat memperbaiki file dan mengunggah ulang tanpa kehilangan baris yang baik.
Konfirmasi dan impor
Puas dengan pratinjau? Klik Impor. Semua pelanggan dibuat sekaligus, dengan nomor telepon yang dinormalisasi ke format Indonesia secara otomatis.
Perlindungan duplikat: jika nomor telepon sudah ada di database Anda, baris tersebut dilewati daripada membuat duplikat. Anda akan melihat tepat baris mana yang dilewati dan mengapa dalam ringkasan hasil.
Format CSV apa yang dibutuhkan?
Pengimpor sengaja dibuat fleksibel — ia menerima header kolom yang sudah digunakan oleh sebagian besar ekspor spreadsheet. File minimal terlihat seperti ini:

Hanya nama dan telepon yang diperlukan. Alamat dan jenis penagihan bersifat opsional dan default ke kosong dan "bayar saat pengambilan". Nomor telepon diterima dalam format Indonesia umum — dinormalisasi secara otomatis sehingga berfungsi dengan benar dengan notifikasi WhatsApp — dengan atau tanpa tanda hubung, dengan atau tanpa angka nol di depan atau +62.
Ekspor: data Anda selalu milik Anda
Fitur ekspor tersedia dari halaman Pelanggan yang sama. Klik Ekspor dan CSV langsung diunduh ke perangkat Anda. File berisi setiap pelanggan aktif — nama, telepon, alamat, jenis penagihan, dan tanggal mereka ditambahkan.
Ini berarti:
- Anda dapat membuat cadangan kapan saja, dalam hitungan detik
- Anda dapat membuka file di Excel atau Google Sheets untuk analisis Anda sendiri
- Jika Anda perlu pindah ke sistem yang berbeda (kami harap Anda tidak perlu!), Anda tidak pernah terkunci
Kasus penggunaan: migrasi dari daftar WhatsApp
Banyak bisnis laundry di Indonesia melacak pelanggan di grup WhatsApp atau buku besar tulis tangan. Jalur migrasi umum yang telah kami lihat berfungsi dengan baik:
